Ye Olde Best Kanye Macro By My Leige

I suppose we can't milk this one too much longer... Hat tip to drewcypher for this medieval Kanye Interrupts macro.

Meanwhile, greetings from my Maine vacation...this is what my view was like yesterday afternoon while using the laptop:

Today is another, much foggier story, however.

The best part of this year's Emmy Awards...

...involved a brazen-slash-ridiculous announcement of the death of broadcast television:

"Like the Ottoman Empire, the music industry, and Zima, we are here to stay."
- Captain Hammer, defending TV business

The #2 through #6 best things involved Toni Collette winning, TRUE BLOOD sneaking onto the show and winning something for Stephen Moyer, more Neil Patrick Harris, at least three Kanye-Interrupt jokes from Harris and from Justin Timberlake, and (as usual) the Variety show writer nom announcement videos. This recap has some other good moments. And of course, there was Sarah Silverman...

About halfway through I gave up and switched over to the new ep of MAD MEN. Hope I didn't miss anything good!? ;-)

Meanwhile, if/when the above video gets yanked, you can DL another copy over here.

Two cool TV/film sites to play with

These are trifles, but they are nifty:

First, an interactive youtube video promoting the new season of DEXTER.

[hint: watch in HD, and in level 4 he's in a black shirt instead of the blue one!]

Second, a site for Paramount's new film UP IN THE AIR (Wr/Dir by Jason Reitman and starring George Clooney), that tracks all the tweets about the movie that are coming out of its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

Cool sites.

Let's play the I-Want-To-Watch-That-New-New-M0on-Trailer Game!

I know I told y'all we needed to wait till Sunday during the VMAs to see this... but no. Summit attached the new NEW M00N trailer onto prints of its new film opening today, SORORITY ROW.

And you know what that means!

I'm not even going to bother with the YouTube links. They are being yanked down right and left.

Come over here to grab the FLV or MP4 file and see for yourself. Obviously it will still be massive big fun to watch RPattz, KStew and Lautner on stage introducing it...the screaming...etc...

Gave me...chills. Really.

ETA: this youtube version might stay up a tad longer than others...

ETA2: Saturday morning a much better HD copy of the trailer with the front and back ends intact, and no fangirl comments on the audio, has shown up. I've updated my links above; thanks to RPOnline! Also: gorgeous frame grabs! This was certainly the best shot in the trailer; so goth...so pretty. The ghost-Edward effects are looking really good.

TRUE BLOOD crack!fanvids by bradeatspeeps

Being that TRUE BLOOD is a show born of crack, inspired by crack, and seasoned by crack (with a showrunner that called the books "pure crack"), it's a natural for what fangirls like to call "crack!vids." And these are hilarious. Tons of season 2 spoilers, natch. Both by bradeatspeeps.

Things I didn't know about NBC's new show TRAUMA

While watching the preview video for the new NBC show TRAUMA (see below), I got curious and poked around IMDB and the show site. Already was curious about this show because Peter Berg is exec producing...but check this out:

The pilot and several episodes were directed by FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS/CAPRICA director Jeffrey Reiner...

The score is by BATTLESTAR GALACTICA/TERMINATOR SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES composer Bear McCreary...

The cast includes Jeffrey Rankin (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS/BIONIC WOMAN) and Anastasia Griffin (DAMAGES).

Sunday Sept 13 = lots of hot vamp & shifter action!

I just realized that Sunday night not only has the TRUE BLOOD season finale, but also the next reveal of new footage from the second TWILIGHT film, NEW MOON.

Below is a shiny widget that will count down till Sunday's reveal on the MTV VMAs, and then apparently transform itself into a trailer embed? Let's hope so. Anyway if you don't have cable TV, come back here Sunday night and check out the trailer, or re-edited old trailer with some new footage, or whatever the heck it is!

My TruBlood has arrived

Guess what came in my mail box today? Actually a very nice UPS man handed it to me, but still. The bottle glass is tinted in such a way that it really does look like real fake blood in those bottles. Oh those clever, clever folks in the show's art department.

These bottles are O Positive. I don't think HBO offers the rest of the flavors types. Which one is Bill's drink of choice, anyone recall?

Will The God Who Comes... actually come? We shall know this Sunday.

I mourn for, while also eagerly awaiting, the TRUE BLOOD season finale. What a sweet foxy strange trip season two has been.

As we count down the last few days, feast your minds on the new video HBO unveiled this week -- it's familiar footage, recut to the tune of Depeche Mode's "Corrupt." All this footage we saw before the season started sure has a lot more meaning now that we're at the end, eh...

Hitler is meta

I was going to post the latest Downfall mashup video of the week -- this time it's Hitler finding out about Obama's speech to schoolchildren -- but then a new one appeared.

The best, most meta vid so far.

Fall TV 2009 - what I'll be watching

Here's a quick list of shows I'll be watching this month as Fall TV kicks into gear. Btw you can look at tons of video previews for all the fall shows over at iTunes and YouTube's fall preview sites. IGN also has a pretty good fall TV section set up, though it is naturally written from the fanboy perspective. And The TV Addict made this great downloadable/printable calendar for every show start date this month, while E!Online has a list of premiere dates that covers the entire fall.

MONDAY:
Durham County (Ion), Trauma (NBC)

WEDNESDAY:
Glee (Fox), Cougar Town (ABC), Eastwick (CW)

THURSDAY:
Grey's Anatomy (ABC), FlashForward (ABC), Community (NBC), The Vampire Diaries (CW)

FRIDAY:
Dollhouse (Fox)

SATURDAY:
The new and improved At The Movies (featuring real critics this time from respected newspapers; hoping this will get good again.)

SUNDAY:
Mad Men (AMC), Defying Gravity (ABC), Californication (Showtime), Ken Burns' National Parks: America's Best Idea (PBS), Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO), Bored To Death (HBO)

There is also the new music performance show Later With Jools Holland (Ovation), which will be on many nights a week starting Sept. 7. Here's a clip featuring TV On The Radio:

Coming in October are the rest of the shows I'm eagerly waiting for: Friday Night Lights, 30 Rock, Private Practice, and season 2 of Durham County (featuring Michelle Forbes). I'll be giving Trauma, Eastwick, Vampire Diaries and FlashForward a try, hoping they are watchable. The pilot for Community was fun. From various TV journalists I read, it sounds like the pilot for Bored To Death is disappointing but the show picks up considerably in eps 102 and 103 and is Paul Auster-like (for you book hounds).

Cannot wait for it all to get rolling.

ETA: I am not sure if this date is correct, but apparently the second season of Merlin will air in the UK starting September 19th. If so, hopefully my brit pals will send me tapes of the new eps right away. If not, I'll wait for them to air next year on NBC. Here's a trailer...

Fall TV on iTunes

I just got a note from Apple introducing this terrific page in iTunes where they will be selling episodes of many Fall TV shows -- touch this below to access the page:

Fall TV

After poking around in there a bit I see that a bunch of good shows that I am going to watch (and many I don't) are listed in there including: MAD MEN, DOLLHOUSE, GLEE, FLASHFORWARD, GREY'S ANATOMY, PRIVATE PRACTICE, COMMUNITY, BONES, CASTLE, VAMPIRE DIARIES, SKINS, TOP GEAR, IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, SUPERNATURAL, UGLY BETTY, LIE TO ME, MONK and PSYCH.

There is a special section for New Fall Shows, and most of them have a "Sneak Peek" video you can watch right now for free. Enjoy!
