TRUE BLOOD: the best ad yet is a 15-minute news report

This aired last week on HBO. I split the 15-minute report into two 7 1/2-minute halves to fit on youtube:

Part one

Part two

One of my favorite things about this report is how it summarizes all the "news" that has come out thus far in the campaign. You also get a closer look at the guy behind The Fellowship of The Sun, and a clear, simple backstory on the BloodCopy blog. I haven't taken the time yet to go back and read all those blog entries so I didn't know much about that part of the ARG/transmedia for TRUE BLOOD. I hear the HEROES transmedia is remarkably dense, and I don't follow it...but HBO seems to be really going out of their way to make this transmedia just as complex in a much shorter time frame (TRUE BLOOD premieres September 7).

Meanwhile True-Blood.TV noticed a few more upcoming HBO specials on their new series:

True Blood ’08: Alan Ball’s Point Of View
August 7th, 2008 8:15PM ET
Running Time: 13 minutes
This appears to be interview based...

Making True Blood

Behind the scenes look at the production of the series

Both specials are repeated several times through-out the month, after their initial premiere, with one or the other airing almost every day.
